General
Profile 2.09 is a sealing element which combines PTFE back-up rings with O-rings or WX-rings. Due to the preferably dynamic (2.09.xxx.1) as well as static (2.09.xxx.3) sealing for heavy applications, there is a separate dimensional series for this. The use of back-up rings prevents gap extrusion of the O-ring or WX-ring even at very high pressure. For trouble-free installation in closed grooves, a simple angled slit is sufficient due to its solid construction width. The slotted 2.09 PTFE support ring offers advantages in assembly due to its stability. In the case of separable installation spaces, this can also be supplied in an endless version. In the case of single-acting pressurisation, a back-up ring is installed on the side facing away from the pressure, and on the right and left of the sealing element in the case of alternating pressurisation. For dynamic applications the dimensional series 2.09.xxx.1 is to be used, for static applications the dimensional series 2.09.xxx.3 is recommended.

Installation instructions
The support ring 2.09 in slotted design can always be snapped into closed installation grooves. For single-acting applications (L1), the back-up ring must be fitted first, followed by the O-ring or WX-ring. For double-acting applications (L2), the opposite second back-up ring must be fitted afterwards. To avoid damaging the seal, it must not be pulled over sharp edges. Initial lubrication must be provided for assembly and initial commissioning. Other
For brake fluids (DOT 4) a peroxide cross-linked EPDM material should be used. Due to the different additives in bio-oil, we recommend contacting our application technology department.
