Uopac (rod or piston seal) is a pressure depending, single acting seal element. It consists of a rubber part (e.g. circular seal ring) as a static spring element for the pretension of the seal and of a U-chevron from PTFE (PT044), that is the actual dynamic sealing.
Because of the static stress of the rubber part, any elastomer qualities can be used. Therewith and in tandem with the PTFE U-chevron, a good chemical and temperature resistance is reached in the entire seal. The known and favorable qualities of PTFE are effective in the dynamic U-part of the seal. They ensure low friction, high chemical and abrasion resistance, good dry operating qualities, no swelling, high temperature resistance and impassivity against dirt. The static and the dynamic coefficient of friction are almost the same. Thereby a regular, undisturbed movement (no stick-slip) is guaranteed, even at slow surface speeds. After a longer standstill a calm starting is also secured.
ADVANTAGES ARE

- less loss by friction and supports a calm, regular movement
- usable in a very broadly temperature area
- because of the U-back part made of PTFE, it is more insensitive to the squeeze-out into the gap

Sharp edges which will be overrun are to be deburred cleanly, resp. are to be manufactured according to the opposite table. Our tolerance values are mean values. They have to be changed according to the use case.
