Uneepac chevrons are a further development of the grooved ring and V-ring chevrons. They consist of synthetic rubber without woven fabric (MTB) or of a synthetic rubber with a woven fabric (MFB and ?). The installation of the sealing set happens fixated; a repeated adjustment is not necessary, not even after longer operation time. The height of the set is modulated in a special way, so that a axial pretension of 3 to 5 % in installed condition is given. Hence it is secured, that a good sealing effect obtains, also in zeropressure conditions and at very low pressures.
By courtesy of the middle web of the Uneepac chevron, a close fit between the sealing lips and the mating surfaces takes place automatically, i.e. depentent on the operating pressure. Therefore the friction of Uneepac chevron is low, in particular in the low pressure area.
The MTB version can be used as a single chevron up to approx. 100 bar. From a internal dimension of 100 mm, it is mountable in a closed groove. It is important that the Uneepac sealing lip is impinged with pressure on both sides of the middle web. Appropriate pressure balance bores have to be included therefore. When you want to apply it as a piston seal, either the single chevron MTB or the triple set MFB are to be used.
