General
The U-Cup G5S is a symmetrical elastomer lip seal that can be used in both hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Due to the tapered sealing lips, it does not generate any significant friction. However, a back-up ring should be inserted into the seal groove to protect them. This support ring can be made of metal, plastic or elastomer (e.g. O-ring) and can be supplied on request. Due to the symmetrical profile design, the G5S can be used as a rod seal as well as a cylinder seal.

Standard material: NBR with a hardness of approx. 85 Shore A, also available in FKM and EPDM at short notice.

Installation instructions
To ensure proper function, the lip seal must have play in the axial direction (see dimension table). To prevent damage to the sealing lip, it must not be pulled over sharp edges. Normally the G5S can be mounted in closed grooves.
