General
The JKP profile is a single-acting piston seal. It consists of a U-shaped PTFE seal body in which a V-shaped metal spring is inserted as a preload element. It makes the seal permanently elastic, independent of changes in operating temperature, pressure, etc. The static sealing effect is achieved by the spring. The static sealing effect is generated by the inherent pretension of the PTFE ring and the mechanical pretensioning force of the spring. The resulting contact pressure is additionally reinforced by the system pressure, so that the total sealing pressure increases with increasing operating pressure. The JKP seal can be used interchangeably in O-ring installation spaces according to DIN 3771, MIL-G-5514F and ARP568

Installation instructions
In principle, split installation grooves are preferable. The specified operating parameters represent maximum limits and are interrelated. Under difficult conditions, it is not advisable to use all values up to the maximum limit at the same time. If individual operating parameters are undershot, it may be possible to increase the operating pressure, for example, if the sliding speed or temperature is low.
Other
For certain applications it is recommended to use a seal cross-section - reduced or reinforced - that deviates from the standard. In these cases, replace the standard code (in the example: "D") with the desired cross-section code (for example "B" or "C") or with "X" if the inner and outer diameters differ.
