PHP
The PHP profile is a double-acting piston seal consisting of an elastomer pretension element, a slide ring made of polyurethane or PTFE at the external diameter, plus two laterally fixed back-up rings. They shall protect the slide ring and also prevent a gap extrusion.
The seal is produced with an immoderation. Through this fact in tandem with the pre-stressing of the elastomer part, a good sealing effect is secured even at low pressure. At increasing pressures the elastomer part is prestressed and activates so the slide ring in a radial direction.
ADVANTAGES ARE
- small space requirement
- simple mounting on single piece pistons
- high abrasion resistance
- very non-drag in PTFE design
- larger joint gap proper
- simple groove design
- long working life time
APPLICATION RANGE | |
Working pressure: | ≤ 60 MPa (600 bar, max. gap = 0,3 mm) |
Working temperature: | - 30 °C to +110 °C (FKM/PTFE +200 °C) |
Surface speed: | 0,6 m/s to 1,5 m/s |
Operating ranges in high pressure areas, chiefly in construction machinessteering cylinders and agricultural machines.
MATERIAL
Elastomer part from NBR or FKM, slide ring from PTFE-Compound or highly wear-resistant polyurethan, back-up rings from POM.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
The compact seal is easy to mount on single piece pistons. Under 50 mm an assembly aid should be used with the PTFE version.
For special cases of application (high temperatures, speed, specific pressure, use in water, HFA-, HFB-fluids etc.) please get in contact with our consultancy service.
SN042 = design with PTFE sliding ring
PU042 = design with polyurethan sliding ring
