General
The profile TKP is a further development of the combination O-ring with PTFE back-up rings to prevent gap extrusion in a dynamic application. The advantage over the O-ring/backing ring combination is the smaller sealing contact area, which results in less friction. In addition, rolling/twisting of the O-ring during start-up is prevented, which prevents possible failure of the O-ring. The movement sequence between start-up and further stroke is more precisely defined with this seal. This makes it possible to achieve more precise travel positioning. The seal is double-acting and can often replace existing O-ring back-up ring combinations due to its compact design. With split back-up rings, it is easy to install in closed installation spaces.

Standard materials:
- Sealing ring: NBR or FKM compound (other elastomers from EPDM to FFKM and PUR can be produced)
- Support rings: modified PTFE

Installation instructions
To prevent damage to the piston seal, it must not be pulled over sharp edges. Depending on the profile cross-section (from 5 mm), it can be installed in closed grooves. Under special conditions, the use of auxiliary and assembly tools is recommended. In special application cases (high temperature, speed, specific pressure load or use in brake fluid, HFA, HFB fluids etc.), please contact our application technology department.
