The profile Z7P combines two functions, sealing and guiding. The piston seal is chiefly used in single acting cylinders and therefore thinner compared to the profile Z5P which can be loaded in both directions. The space-saving design may derive a benefit depending on the construction.
ADVANTAGES ARE
- sealing and guiding with sealing component
- no contact between piston and cylinder, hence scoring of light metal and plastic cylinders is prevented
- long service life after thorough initial lubrication
- even usable in dry or oil-free air
- also available in a double-acting construction (Z5P) for the same fitting area
- smooth running by means of optimized and lubrication-retaining lip geometry
- simple mounting
APPLICATION RANGE
operating pressure: | ≤ 1,6 MPa (16 bar) |
operating temperature: | - 30 °C up to + 80 °C >FKM up to 180°C< |
surface speed: | ≤ 1,0 m/s |
media: | Compressed air, lubricated as well as oil-free (after initial lubrication) |
Chiefly used for the sealing of pistons in pneumatic cylinders and valves. The seal is unsuitable for taking shear forces.
MATERIAL
Standard compound is a NBR-based elastomer with a hardness of approx. 78 Shore A. Special compounds are available for high resp. low temperature
applications.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
The profile Z7P is mountable trouble-free at one-piece pistons by pulling over. To avoid damage to the sealing lip, the seals should not be drawn over sharp edges during installation. So, the edges at the piston and the cylinder liner should be rounded. Before the mounting of the piston, a closed lubricating film should be spread out. Hence, the dry operation and a long service life are ensured.
