General
The ZAP profile is a double-acting cylinder/piston seal. It consists of an elastomer body in the middle made of a special NBR compound with a Shore hardness of approx. 85 Shore A. This compound is characterised by low abrasion and very good sliding properties. This compound is characterised by low abrasion and very good sliding properties. To prevent gap extrusion, the profile is additionally reinforced on the outer diameter with a polyacetate-based support ring on each side.
Medium
Can be used in mineral oil, HFA, HFC and HFB fluids
Material
Standard materials:
- Sealing ring: NBR special compound in 85 Shore A
- Backing rings: POM (polyacetate)
Advantages
- robust design
- insensitive to pressure peaks
- compact design
- good abrasion resistance
- good sliding properties
Installation instructions
To ensure proper function of the gasket, the groove width must be larger than the gasket width. To avoid damaging the seal, it must not be pulled over sharp edges. The compact seal profile can be mounted on one-piece pistons. For special applications (high temperature, speed, specific pressure load or use in HFA, HFB fluids etc.) please contact our application engineering department.
Other
For use in HFA, HFC and HFB fluids, please note the temperature limits of -5°C and +60°C.
Range of application
Hydraulic pit cylinders and tunnel boring machines
