General
Profile ZYP is a single-acting piston or cylinder seal. In a double-acting application, two pieces must be installed on the piston in opposite directions. If there is less pressure in one pressure direction, a second seal of a different design may have to be provided, depending on the operating conditions. The ZYP profile consists of an elastomer body made of NBR in the middle. A fabric with a special NBR/SBR© compound is laminated into the running surface. This maintains a good lubricating film between the seal and the cylinder wall, even after extended downtimes under high pressure. This lubrication deposit reduces the breakaway force and considerably improves the service life of the seal. To prevent gap extrusion, the profile is additionally reinforced on the outer diameter with a polyacetate-based lateral support ring. In the high-pressure version A, two wedge-shaped semi-active support rings are additionally provided over the entire profile height. A thrust ring is fitted on the end face. Set code SN448 = insert up to 200 MPa, set code SN256 = insert up to 50 MPa

Installation instructions
To avoid damage to the seal, it must not be pulled over sharp edges. The profile ZYP can be mounted on one-piece pistons from 100 mm, below that we recommend a split groove design.The lead-in chamfer must be sufficiently dimensioned, if necessary the mounting must be carried out by means of a mounting aid. For special applications (high temperature, speed, specific pressure load or use in HFA, HFB or HFC fluids etc.) please contact our application engineering department.
Other
For use in HFA, HFB and HFC fluids, please observe the temperature limits of -5°C to +60°C.
