BDR
The HPU rod seal BDR has a secondary sealing lip, as well as a highly extrusion tight back-up ring, to prevent gap extrusion. The second sealing lip provides a better lubricating film supply on the inside diameter. Thereby a longer lifetime will be achieved and dry operation impeded. In some cases it can be avoided to use a costly tandem-assembly with two separate seal housings, using the second sealing lip. This seal is used for high-pressure hydraulic- applications, if in case of the operation parameters, fabric reinforced seals are not sufficient.
MAIN ADVANTAGES ARE
- highly abrasion resistance
- very well usable with high pressures and abrupt pressure peaks
- insensible against gap extrusion
- low compression set
- suitable for hardest operation conditions
- better lubrication film through backed-up pressure medium between the sealing lips
- very good seal effect under pressureless conditions
- entrapped air during working process, is mostly impeded
- easy to install
APPLICATION RANGE | |
working pressure: | ≤ 50 MPa (500 bar) |
operating temperature: | - 35 to + 110 °C |
sliding speed: | ≤ 0,5 m/s |
media: | Hydraulic oils, based at mineral oil base |
Mainly for applications under hindered conditions with mobile- and stationary hydraulics for sealing rods and plungers.
MATERIAL
Highly abrasion resistant HPU Polyurethane-Compound, with a hardness of approximately 93 Shore A, O-Seal as a pre-load element in NBR with approximately 70 Shore A. Back-up ring made of filled polyamide (WK019).
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
To ensure a perfect function the BDR must have a certain play in axial direction (look at measure scale). So that the sealing lips won?t be damaged, don?t pull them over sharp edges. Normally the BDR can be installed within closed grooves. In case of extreme width of profile and diameter measures, installing tools should be used. Normally the decrease fit for the guidelines should be laid out of H8/f7. In case of lower pressures, a larger gap size on the back is possible.
In certain cases (high temperature, speed, specific resistance to pressure, or use of water, HFA-, HFB- fluids a.s.o.) please contact with our application technology
