The gear oil seal W7R has a metal support body which is completely covered with an elastomer. This gives the W7R a defined oversize for a tight fit in the housing. The profiled design on the outer diameter ensures a good static seal.

Installation instructions
For pressing into the open housing bore, the outer tight fit of the seal should be moderately oiled. The housing bore must be provided with a sufficient chamfer. The assembly should only be carried out with a press-in device, whereby the pressure body must be adapted to the dimension of the seal. The press-in force and depth must be limited so that the sealing element cannot be deformed. For optimum service life, initial lubrication of the dynamic running surfaces with the gear oil to be sealed is recommended.
