Elastomeric high-performance rotary shaft seals of type AB with two sealing lips aligned in the same direction of installation. For use in the sealing of compressed air and gases, as well as in the sealing of difficult, low-lubricity media. The seal consists of a metallic support body according to DIN 1624 and two elastomer precision diaphragm sleeves. In contrast to shaft seals according to DIN 3760, this design allows considerably higher speeds and pressures to be sealed. With these shaft seals, the inherent elasticity of the sleeve material is responsible for the spring properties, the pretension. There is no need for an additional worm spring.

Installation instructions
A prerequisite for the proper functioning of the seal is careful installation in accordance with DIN 3760. Clean the installation spaces, grease the seal and shaft, chamfer or cover sharp edges, do not tilt the seal ring when pressing it in, apply the pressing force close to the outside diameter, the seal must be centred and at right angles to the shaft after installation. To exclude medium contamination by the sealing ring grease, a single-lip type WA or WB can be fitted upstream, depending on the direction of pressure. It is important that adjacent machine parts do not restrict the functional space of the sealing lip, i.e. the sealing lip should have a minimum distance of 1.5 mm to the next machine part when mounted. When using the double-lipped types, the annular space between the two sealing lips is filled to two thirds with grease in order to avoid dry running of the lip facing away from the medium.
